Welcome to Spain!

We arrived in Llanes to beautiful weather and blue skies greeting us at the coast. It was a welcome sight after a long journey and everybody was itching to get to the beach!

After checking in at our hotel, we ate a lunch of tortilla española and croquetas, and then finally headed to the beach to enjoy the waves, peek around the neat rock formations, and toss around a frisbee.

Later while taking a stroll around town, we not only found a new restaurant to try for dinner but also a churro stand! Next time we will keep an eye out for the dipping chocolate that rounds off this tasty street snack.

As our first day in Spain ends, we’re getting excited about surfing and hiking later this week. Stay tuned!
