Catch a Wave!

Our second day in Llanes began a little bleary after the long trip, but we soon found our stride on a beautiful walk to the site of our orientation. Our student travelers engaged in a discourse about a variety of subjects related to the trip and Spain in general and ended by joining hands to decide what we all wanted to see most out of each other in the next three weeks. We were impressed with how reflective the group was during this talk and it set a great tone for the day as well as the duration of our time together!

After splitting into two groups for lunch, we met up with our friends at a surf camp to catch a wave! Although the weather was beautiful for getting in the water, surfing conditions were not ideal, but everybody had a good time and picked up some new Spanish vocabulary along the way from our helpful guides.

As we were leaving the beach to head back to Llanes, some of us even met some locals for a quick dance competition!

Using our Spanish with the locals already!

Before we arrived back at the hotel and washed up for dinner, our savvy bus driver (and surf guide!) decided it would be best if we saw one last view before the day was done….

We couldn’t agree more.

Stay tuned!
